JR & SR Choir
Welcome to Junior Choir
Junior choir is for those students in Grades 1, 2, and 3. Students will get the opportunity to learn new music, further develop their singing technique, and perform for a variety of audiences. If you and your child decide that joining choir is a commitment you are wanting to make, then here are a few things you’ll need to know.
Practices will be on Wednesday’s at lunch from 12:00pm-12:40pm. Students will bring their lunch to the music room right at noon, and will begin practice after they have eaten.
The first Junior Choir practice will be on Wednesday, October 4th.
Attendance Policy: It is very important that students attend each practice so they have enough time to learn the music. If students miss 2 or more practices in a row, they may not be permitted to attend an upcoming performance. Students will be given the opportunity to re-commit when we return after Christmas.
During performances students will be asked to wear a black shirt (t-shirt, long sleeve, button up, etc.) and black bottoms (jeans, pants, skirts, or dresses).
I am excited for this choir year and can’t wait to get started!

Welcome to Senior Choir
I am so excited you have chosen to join us in this wonderful, musical experience. We will be learning new songs and developing the art of musical performance. The afterschool choir is for students in grade 3, 4, and 5 who have a desire to develop their musical talents. Here are a few things you need to know:
Schedule Choir practice is each TUESDAY afterschool until 4:30. We may have a noon hour or recess practice to prepare just before some performances.
Attendance Policy Choir begins at 3:35 sharp on Tuesdays. Students will have enough time to have a quick snack and a bathroom break before we begin our practice. Parents are responsible for making arrangements for their child to be picked up promptly at 4:30. Those students in BLAST can return to the community room. (Please notify BLAST if your child is in this program.)
It is essential for each choir member to have sufficient time practicing each piece, and so students who miss two or more practices in a row may not be permitted to attend performances. Students are asked to make a commitment until Christmas and then may “renew” their commitment to choir for the second half of the school year if they would like to.
Choir Attire For performances, we look better as a group if we are dressed in appropriate attire. Students will need to have a BLACK top and BLACK pants/skirt for performance. The school will provide a music vest for the students to borrow to jazz up their outfit even more.
I am looking forward to a fantastic session of choir!! Thanks so much for your participation!
