Mrs. Crystal Niven
Grade 3
Hello! My name is Crystal Niven and I have been with the school district since 2008. After my Education degree at University of Alberta I moved back to my hometown to begin my teaching career. I started subbing mainly at Lakeview Elementary which led to a position teaching afternoons in Grade 3. This allowed me to do what I love while still having time for my family. The next year I taught Grade 5 full time then moved to Nicholas Sheran Elementary (teaching one year of grade 1, then moving to Grade 3 where I have remained).
I LOVE teaching. My goal is to make children feel safe, comfortable, and able to learn and grow. I work alongside a great team at NS as well as families so that each child is supported and can succeed.
In my downtime I love spending time with my family (husband: Mark, son: Tate, and daughter: Lyla), reading (anything), I am an avid Hockey fan (Go Oilers!), and enjoy visiting, playing and relaxing at our family cabin in Saskatchewan.
